How much to feed

Bella & Duke recommends a starting range of 2–3% of body weight per day for adult dogs. The examples below are calculated from that range; individual needs vary with activity, body condition and life stage. Working dogs may need a different allowance, so monitor condition and adjust as needed.

Example: a 10kg adult dog’s starting allowance is 10 × 1,000 × 0.02–0.03 = 200–300g per day. This is the total daily amount, not the amount per meal.

Account for treats and any other food in the daily allowance. Introduce dietary changes gradually and keep fresh drinking water available.

Frozen storage and serving

• Keep frozen until needed.
• Defrost in a covered container on the bottom shelf of the fridge; allow around 24 hours.
• Keep thawed food refrigerated and use within four days, following any more specific instructions on the pack.
• Serve raw. Do not cook this food because it contains bone.
• Wash hands after handling and clean utensils, bowls and preparation surfaces thoroughly. Keep raw pet food separate from food for people.
