A useful starting point

What does
80:10:10 mean?

It describes the proportions of ingredients in the recipe. It does not, by itself, confirm that a food provides every nutrient your dog needs.

80%Meat
10%Bone
10%Offal

Check whether your chosen food is complete or complementary. Complementary raw foods need a properly balanced feeding plan, which may include an appropriate vitamin-and-mineral supplement. DAF recipes have different ratios, so read each pack rather than assuming they are all 80:10:10.

So much to choose from

Find their
next favourite.

DAF’s variety is a big part of its appeal. Choose from familiar beef and lamb recipes, poultry combinations, fish and game, with 454g packs that are easy to organise in the freezer.

  • A broad choice of ingredients: including goat, quail, pheasant and wild boar alongside everyday favourites.
  • Different recipes, different ratios. Browse the 80:10:10-labelled options separately from other minces.
  • Choose to suit your dog. Changing proteins adds variety, but does not itself guarantee nutritional balance. Check the full ingredients for mixed-protein recipes.

A different take on dinner

Fruit & veg
in the mix.

Chicken & Apple, Duck & Pumpkin, Beef & Blueberry and more. These blends bring plant ingredients into the recipe for another way to vary your dog’s menu.

  • Explore different combinations of meat, fruit and vegetables.
  • Use the recipe’s own guidance. Ratios and ingredients vary across these blends.
  • Fruit and veg do not establish completeness. Check the label and include complementary foods within a balanced plan.

Think about the whole diet

The extras.
And what they do.

Feeding an 80:10:10 or another complementary raw food? Consider the nutrients provided by the whole diet. Raw Aid and DAF’s vegetable bag serve different purposes.

  • Vitamin-and-mineral support: choose a supplement designed for the type of diet you feed.
  • Vegetable variety: use the DAF mix as a complementary addition within your feeding plan.
  • Get the balance checked by a vet or qualified veterinary nutritionist, especially for puppies, pregnancy or dogs with health conditions.
Raw Aid for Cats & Dogs 500g

Raw Aid
for Cats & Dogs

GWF’s micronutrient supplement is designed to help complete a natural raw diet and is suitable for 80:10:10 feeding. Easy-to-mix 2mm pellets, supplied here in a 500g pack.

Use the manufacturer’s daily feeding directions for your pet. Check suitability before combining with other supplements or an already complete food.

DAF Mixed Vegetable Bag 1kg

DAF Mixed
Vegetable Bag

A frozen 1kg mix with broccoli, pumpkin, butternut squash, kale, cucumber and spinach, plus coconut, spirulina and turmeric.

A convenient way to add plant ingredients. It is complementary food and does not, on its own, balance an 80:10:10 diet.

Match the addition to the need. A vegetable mix, a vitamin-and-mineral product and a targeted supplement are not interchangeable. The right combination and amounts depend on the base food and your dog; adding several supplements “just in case” can over-supply nutrients.

Choose your format

Freeflow
& dinners.

Prefer a loose mince you can portion, or individual dinner packs? Explore DAF’s freeflow bags and dinner recipes alongside the 454g selection.

  • Freeflow in 1kg bags lets you take out a portion while keeping the rest frozen.
  • Dinner recipes offer another format; most listings here are 500g.
  • Check the exact pack. “Dinner” or “Premium” in a name is not enough to establish whether a food is nutritionally complete.

More from the freezer

Fish, chunks
& raw extras.

Whole fish, liver chunks and bone-containing products give experienced raw feeders further options to consider within an appropriate plan.

  • Account for the whole meal. Extra organs and bone alter the overall balance; use planned amounts.
  • Bone-containing products need particular care. Bones can damage teeth or cause choking and gut injury; ask your vet about suitability.
  • Handle as raw food and follow each pack’s preparation and storage instructions.

A little guidance

Raw feeding,
explained.

We can help you find the product details and pack formats. For an individual diet plan, speak with your vet or a qualified veterinary nutritionist.

Is every DAF food an 80:10:10 recipe?

No. DAF has a wide selection with different meat, bone and offal proportions, plus meat-only foods, fruit-and-veg blends and other additions. Check the exact recipe and the supplied label.

Does 80:10:10 mean a food is complete?

No. It gives the meat, bone and offal proportions. A complete food must provide all required nutrients in appropriate amounts for the stated life stage. Complementary foods need to be used as part of a balanced diet.

Should I add Raw Aid to an 80:10:10 food?

Raw Aid is designed for this type of raw feeding and can provide additional vitamins and minerals. Follow GWF’s directions and have the overall diet checked for your dog. Do not assume one supplement makes every possible raw-food combination complete.

Will a bag of vegetables balance the meal?

Vegetables can add plant ingredients and variety, but they are not a substitute for a correctly formulated diet or an appropriate vitamin-and-mineral supplement. DAF’s vegetable mix is complementary food.

Can I feed several proteins across the week?

Variety is one reason to explore the range, provided the recipes suit your dog. However, rotating meats alone does not establish nutritional balance. If your dog is on an exclusion diet, follow your vet’s plan rather than adding new proteins.

How should I store and handle frozen raw food?

Keep it frozen until needed. Thaw in a covered container in the fridge, away from human food, and follow the pack’s use-after-thawing instructions. Wash hands and clean bowls, utensils and surfaces thoroughly. Raw food can carry harmful bacteria; take advice if anyone in the household is at higher risk of infection.

Can I order different DAF recipes for delivery?

Yes. Choose individual listings to build your basket, subject to availability. Nationwide frozen delivery requires at least 8kg of frozen products, with the frozen surcharge and delivery charge applied to the order.
